The Children's Book Project has become a
much-loved part of life at our school, and the
impact on our children and families has been
truly heartwarming. As a school serving a
disadvantaged community, we know that
many of our children have limited access to
books at home. This project has helped place
wonderful, high-quality books into the hands
of our children, but more importantly, into
their hearts. It has created excitement, pride
and a genuine love of reading that extends
far beyond the school gates.
The anticipation around each book gifting
event is incredible. Children talk about it for
days beforehand, eagerly waiting for their
opportunity to choose a book of their own.
There is a real sense of joy and ownership in
being able to select something that reflects
their interests, rather than simply being given
a book. We see children choosing with
confidence, discussing authors and characters,
and sharing recommendations with friends.

Perhaps most importantly, every book sends
a powerful message to a child: this book is
yours, reading is for you, and your interests
matter. For some children, that message can
be life-changing. The impact builds with
every gifting event, nurturing confidence,
curiosity and a lifelong enjoyment of
reading. We are incredibly grateful for a
project that brings so much happiness to our
children and such lasting benefits to the
families we serve.
