BookSparks scaffold browsing and widen choice
Our powerful BookSparks cards launched this year. Developed in
conjunction with teaching practitioners, they are designed to support
children to browse confidently for books amongst those on offer. They
are inclusive and fun, supporting enjoyable and memorable book talk with
no prior knowledge of books required. 30 cards in each A5 pack support
response to a cue and exploration of books whilst those for KS2 additionally
support deeper thinking about the title selected. Children respond
independently, with friends or to teacher prompts. 8,000 packs were
distributed with our books to Discovery partner schools this Autumn term.
