Asda’s nationwide book drive
We’re incredibly grateful to Asda, which
throughout this year has collected books for us in
over 300 stores nationwide. Customers and local
families have been able to donate pre-loved books
at dedicated trolleys in store, with extra campaign
support for their back to school and World Book
Day campaigns.
Asda staff have also given their time helping to
sort books at our warehouses, whilst the retailer’s
support also underpinned our first activity in
Glasgow, where HarperCollins UK hosted a
dedicated local sorting event at their warehouse
in Robroyston, together with Asda making it
possible for us to gift to every child in 22 local
primary schools.
Thanks to an extensive logistics network and
efficient distribution processes, an incredible
511,823 books have been collected this year. This
has enabled us to gift the equivalent of six books to
every child in 300 primary schools across the UK.
