Over 700 donation points nationwide
The rigour and love that goes into every
donation of books that leaves our
warehouses has been recognised by the
feedback we receive daily from schools,
prisons and other settings we work with.
100% of our partner schools want to repeat
participate year on year, with fifteen schools
now entering their fifth year with us. 89% of
teachers say that our work positively
impacts their most disengaged readers.
With the notable support of Asda and other tactical
and long-term book collection partners we9ve
increased the number of book donation points by
300% nationwide so that now most members of the
public are within 10 miles of one of our drop points
or can arrange a collection.
Focus on developing reader identity
Developed with practitioner guidance, our unique
gifting collateral enables partners to put on a series
of impactful mini 8book festivals9: events that support
children with limited prior experience to browse for,
choose and take home books that they feel excited
about and want to read, and that reinforce and
validate their reader identity. Increasingly our book
gifting programme is an integral element of schools9
wider literacy framework.
We amended our constitution during this
time to reflect the impact of our work on
families9 understanding of the power of
reuse, and are also proud that multiple book
recyclers, publishers, printers and book
distributors recognise the valuable role we
play within the circular economy through
regular committed donations.
