1.Accounting Policies
Basis of accounting
The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared in accordance with the statement of Recommended Practice:
Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014 and the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011 and UK Generally Accepted
Practice as it applies from 1 January 2019.
The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared to give a 'true and fair' view and have departed from the Charities
(Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a 'true and fair view'. This departure has
involved following Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014 rather than the Accounting
and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been
withdrawn.
The charity meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. The trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation
(CIO), registered charity (registration number 1183092). The charity's registered office is listed on page 1.
Going concern
The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the charity’s ability to continue as a going concern for at
least 12 months from the date of approving the accounts.
Incoming resources
Income from donations and grants, including capital grants, is included in incoming resources when these are receivable,
except as follows:
- when donors specify that donations and grants given to the charity must be used in future periods, the income is deferred
until those periods.
- when donors impose conditions which have to be fulfilled before the charity becomes entitled to use such income, the
income is deferred and not included in incoming resources until the pre-conditions have been met.
When donors specify that donations and grants, including capital grants, are for particular restricted purposes, which do not
amount to pre-conditions regarding entitlement, this income is included in incoming resources of restricted funds when
receivable.
